No Place I’d Rather Be...

Although international travel remains off the agenda for the foreseeable, that doesn't mean we can't indulge in a suit of wanderlust. From the beautiful beaches of Zanzibar to the alluring glamour of Monte Carlo, we whittle down the destinations we're currently dreaming of. Sit back, relax and let your mind take you to one of these dreamy locations.

ZANZIBAR

What we'd do: While it's certainly tempting to lay on the beach all day, Zanzibar is rich in history and culture. Leave the comfort of the sun lounger, and you'll be rewarded with the winding streets of Stone Town and the feast for the senses at Darajani Market.

What we'd wear: A bikini, coordinating sarong, and tan leather slip-on sandals.

What we'd eat: You haven't lived until you've tasted a Zanzibar pizza—yes, really. The region, however, is known for its unique take on biryani and pilau too.

What we'd drink: Fresh coconut water straight from the coconut itself. Bliss.

Where we'd stay: A romantic retreat set on Zanzibar's breathtaking white sand coast, The Residence Zanzibar, hidden away within 32 hectares of palm-fringed gardens, is the ultimate off-the-grid escape.

MONTE CARLO

What we'd do: Looking to relax? You've come to the wrong place. From the glittering casinos to the impressive architecture, seeing the sights is of the utmost priority.

What we'd wear: A backless dress, oversized sunglasses, and the largest sunhat you can carry on the plane.

What we'd eat: We'd order a healthy serving of Barbajuan, a kind of fritter stuffed with Swiss chard and ricotta, among other ingredients, which originates from Monaco.

What we'd drink: When in Monte Carlo, a Monte Carlo whisky cocktail should be your tipple of choice. Naturally.

Where we'd stay: Oozing glamour and right in the heart of the action, accommodation doesn't come more impressive than the legendary Hotel de Paris.

MALLORCA

What we'd do: Go at a slower pace as we hike to hidden beaches, take long, leisurely lunches, and sip wine under a starlit sky.

What we'd wear: Tailored shorts, a breezy chiffon blouse, and woven espadrilles.

What we'd eat: Sobrasada, a spicy spreadable sausage, across crusty bread. And cheese; lots of local cheese.

What we'd drink: Carajillo, an espresso with a generous shot of brandy. Juice from The Valley of Oranges is also a must.

Where we'd stay: Boasting a gorgeous atheistic that rings true to its Mediterranean surroundings, Cap Rocat embodies the spirit of peaceful barefoot luxury.

ANTIGUA

What we'd do: Make the most of the impossibly clear waters with a day spent snorkelling with turtles; genuinely a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

What we'd wear: As much white linen and rattan accessories as we could back in our 23kg luggage allowance.

What we'd eat: Seafood forms much of Antigua's local delicacies, with conch proving to be a must-eat.

What we'd drink: Simple—rum punch by the pitcher.

Where we'd stay: Carlisle Bay, a luxury resort overlooking the white sand, palm trees, and turquoise water, with a backdrop of the emerald green rainforest.

FORMENTERA

What we'd do: Ditch the car and instead explore the island on two-wheels. The terrain makes it ideal for both those experienced and new to cycling. Of course, it would be amiss not to experience the world-renowned nightlife, too.

What we'd wear: A strapless jumpsuit with a chain belt and strappy sandals.

What we'd eat: Like mainland Spain, Formentera is known for its delectable meat dishes; think leg of lamb and baked pork.

What we'd drink: A glass (or five) of Tinto de Verano; Formentera's unique take on Sangria.

Where we'd stay: Casa Pacha, a luxury design hotel from the famous Pacha Group. Staying here will also grant you complimentary access to any of the iconic Pacha venues.

PIEDMONT

What we'd do: Piedmont's name originates from its location at the 'mountains' feet' and has some of the most beautiful scenery in Italy, with vineyards and museums alike to explore.

What we'd wear: A vintage gingham check dress with lashings of gold jewellery.

What we'd eat: In this region of Italy, pasta dishes revolve mostly around Tajarin, a thin egg noodle, often accompanied by white truffle.

What we'd drink: It would be rude not to try as many local wines as possible.

Where we'd stay: Nordelaia, a breathtaking independent boutique hotel nestled deep in Piedmont's wine country.
