The scent of winter: Divine candles to burn this season
It’s time to switch-up your wicks and refresh your scents for the cold-weather season
There's nothing quite as comforting as settling down on the sofa for the evening, the room lit only by the glow of a candle. And the best time of year to indulge in such an activity is winter. But which scents should we opt for now that the new season has settled in?
We decided to consult with an expert: Jo Malone CBE. Having launched her first brand, Jo Malone London, back in the '90s, Malone has since gone on to found another impressive fragrance-focused company, Jo Loves.
‘A candle can transport us to any time or place, giving a sensorial experience that allows us to remember things like a family holiday, celebration or a person we have met,’ explains Malone. ‘Autumn is a nice time to rethink the scents we burn at home, especially with the change in weather." But which scent will Malone be burning come autumn?
‘Personally, I like to opt for something a little deeper in scent; much like the new Jo Loves Fig Trees candle. I’ll be burning this candle and enjoying it with a warming mug of hot chocolate.’ Sounds pretty perfect if you ask us. From cedarwood and amber, to cassis and, of course, fig, here are just some of the candles we love for winter.
