There's a brand-new night market launching in Glasgow this Friday, and we think it sounds amazing
A brand-new night market is set to light up north Glasgow when it launches this Friday (31 January), bringing a fun local flea market to the up-and-coming area.
Hosted by Carnival Arts Yard, and driven by the talent found with the local Glasgow canal community, the North City Night Market will see a plethora of local businesses, artists and designer-makers selling artisan goods, including arts and crafts, clothing and soaps, as well as live music, drinks and Mexican-inspired street food from MASA.
Alongside the goods for sale, there will also be some secondhand stalls selling a variety of preloved gems, with bartering and swapping actively encouraged.
Julie Murray, Glasgow Canal Co-op co-director and Carnival Arts Yard director, said: “We’re excited to bring this lively flea-market atmosphere to north Glasgow for the North City Night Market. It’s going to be a relaxed and fun evening and is open to all – we can’t wait to welcome people along and brighten up their January. Glasgow’s canal and its surrounding neighbourhood is a creative hub tucked away in the north of the city and this event will showcase the close-knit community atmosphere and wealth of talent based in the area.”
The market is located in a warehouse at 1 Borron Street, close to Glasgow canal, just 15 minutes from Cowcaddens Subway Station.
