The Chippendale International School of Furniture invites you to its graduate exhibition
As much as we love scrolling through Instagram for #homeinspo, when everyone has the same on-trend furniture from the same shop, things can start to look a little boring. If you fancy adding some personality to your home, bespoke furniture is the perfect way to do it - and the Chippendale International School of Furniture’s graduate exhibition is the ideal place to find some unique pieces.
Each year, the world-renowned furniture school, which is based near Haddington, East Lothian, welcomes 26 students from across the globe to learn the craft of woodworking and furniture-making. The nine-month course, which teaches students all the techniques they need to know to create stunning bespoke, handmade furniture, culminates in a graduate exhibition and sale of work - and this year’s takes place next week.
The graduate exhibition is on display at Greyfriars Kirk in Edinburgh on Monday June 10 from 1pm to 8pm and Tuesday June 11 from 10am to 8pm, and then at the Chippendale School in East Lothian on Friday June 14 from 6pm to 8pm and Saturday June 15 from 10am to 4pm.
At the exhibition, you’ll be able to see what the students have created during their time on the Professional Course, as well as snap up your favourite pieces - or you could even order something bespoke if a particular item or style has caught your eye. Join the Chippendale team and the students for wine and strawberries between 6pm to 8pm at the above events, or drop in any time and browse at your leisure.
Feeling inspired by what you see at the graduate exhibition? The Chippendale School is currently accepting applications for the 2019/20 Professional Course, beginning in October. Whether you fancy a change in career or want to learn a new skill, the course is recognised as one of the best in the world.
