An Evening to Celebrate Sondheim
Legendary American composer and lyricist Stephen Sondheim was considered among the most important figures in 20th-century musical theatre.
His death in November last year, left the musical theatre community in collective grief, but it was also a time of reflection and celebration of his incredible catalogue of work. Sondheim's accolades include eight Tony Awards (including a Lifetime Achievement Tony in 2008), an Academy Award, eight Grammy Awards, a Pulitzer Prize, a Laurence Olivier Award, and a 2015 Presidential Medal of Freedom. And two theatres bear his name, one on Broadway and the other in the West End.
Showing how far and wide Sondheim’s influence reaches, Harlequin Productions in association with Castlegate Arts presents, ‘Finishing the Hat’, on Friday 29th and Saturday 30th April at the Aberdeen Arts Centre.
This two night run will celebrate the life and works of Sondheim visiting songs from shows including Into the Woods, Sweeney Todd, Follies and Company.
Tickets are just £15 for standard seating or celebrate in style with a table for four plus a 75cl bottle of Prosecco, for £100, book here.
