Love Afternoon Tea
Wimbledon starts today, and perhaps a sporting tournament with lashings of strawberries and cream, Pimms and Champagne is precisely what we need to brighten this rather bleak summer…
Harvey Nichols Edinburgh will be raising a toast to a summer of terrific tennis with a special Wimbledon-themed Afternoon Tea. The tennis tournament is celebrating its 145th anniversary this year, and to mark the special occasion, the Forth Floor is offering a limited-edition menu launching today.
Not merely for tennis enthusiasts, the special menu features the finest, fresh ingredients bursting with the many fabulous flavours of the summer season.
Customers are invited to begin with a refreshingly light trio of savoury delicacies, including smoked salmon, served with chive cream cheese and watercress on a brioche bun; an avocado, tomato and cucumber poppy seed sandwich; and a super food salad consisting of quinoa, pomegranate, butternut squash, pea shoots. This will then be followed by a traditional serving of fruit scones with Cornish clotted cream and strawberry jam. Diners can then round off their experience with a true taste of summer, including strawberries and cream served with lemon meringue, and a strawberry and vanilla syrup; lemon and elderflower tart featuring a white chocolate drizzle; and of course, a slice of Victoria sponge served with a Pimm’s and strawberry jelly and a strawberry mousse.
Customers wanting to further elevate their experience can opt to include a Pimm’s cocktail to truly complete their quintessentially British Afternoon Tea experience as they raise a toast to Wimbledon and the summer ahead, all whilst overlooking the spectacular views of Edinburgh Castle, the capital city skyline and the Firth of Forth.
£25 per person or £35 per person to include a Pimm’s cocktail. Available 27 June – 10 July.
Tigerlily will play host to the official Scottish Wimbledon Garden this summer in George Street, Edinburgh.
Sipsmith is the official Gin Partner of Wimbledon 2022 and its pop-up at Tigerlily is the only one outside of London where customers can enjoy a limited edition, tennis inspired cocktail menu and afternoon tea.
The popular destination continues its love affair with elaborate floral installations, this time festooning the venue with fresh hydrangeas, allium, viburnum and daisies to create a stunning and fragrant indoor British summer garden. It is the largest installation to date to be created in Tigerlily with over 1,000 stems of flowers and foliage used in total. Already proving popular, the Wild Flowers masterpiece has been filmed by a production company for a show that’s been picked up by a UK broadcaster and is due to hit screens later this year. Get down there for your summer selfies today!
Included in the limited edition Wimbledon themed menu will be a savoury selection of honey roast ham with Arran mustard and tomato on wholemeal, smoked Scottish salmon, cucumber and cream cheese on white as well as a caramelised red onion and goats cheese quiche amongst other tasty treats. For those with a sweet tooth, there is a selection of delectable bites like a strawberries and cream cupcake, black forest brownie gateaux and a lemon meringue tart. Love!
Afternoon tea starts from £21.50.
