Stravaigin Celebrates 30 Years of Culinary Excellence with Special Events and Whisky Partnership
Stravaigin, Glasgow’s iconic West End venue, is turning 30 this October, marking three decades of inspiring locals and visitors alike to ‘wander off the beaten path’ in search of creative, global-inspired dishes made with Scottish produce. As part of the celebrations from 25th-27th October, Stravaigin will offer limited-edition throwback dishes chosen by its long-serving staff, alongside a new autumn menu, making it a must-visit for food lovers this autumn. But it’s not just about the food. Stravaigin’s ethos of blending local ingredients with worldly influences has earned it a dedicated following over the years, as has its lively bar, which features a carefully curated selection of wines, craft ales, and inventive cocktails.
Perfect Pairing
Beyond the menu, Stravaigin is teaming up with The Sassenach Scotch Whisky for a perfect pairing, offering complimentary Wee Haggis with whisky sauce to anyone who orders a serve of The Sassenach on Sunday, 27th October. The whisky, crafted by Outlander star Sam Heughan, has quickly gained a fan base, and now, Stravaigin will be adding it as a permanent fixture on their drinks menu.
Stravaigin’s longevity is attributed to its talented team, who have played a pivotal role in shaping the restaurant’s enduring appeal. Among the notable figures behind the success are Marquis, Scotland’s Bar Tender of the Year, Anu, and Head Chef Jambo. Each of them has handpicked a favorite dish for the anniversary celebration, which will feature alongside the restaurant’s new offerings.
Gifts & Prizes to Celebrate
In addition to the culinary festivities, guests visiting on Saturday, 26th October, between 12pm and 1am will have the chance to win one of 30 spot prizes, ranging from gift cards and meals to Stravaigin tote bags filled with Scottish-themed goodies.
Commenting on the milestone, General Manager Olivia Wong said, “Stravaigin holds a special place in the hearts of many. Thirty years is a remarkable achievement, but it’s more than just a number – it’s about the warm atmosphere, our loyal patrons, and our incredible team who make Stravaigin what it is today.”
As Stravaigin raises a glass to 30 years, it remains as beloved as ever, continuing to serve up its unique brand of hospitality that has become synonymous with Glasgow’s West End.
Whether you're a regular or a first-time visitor, this anniversary weekend promises to be a celebration of good food, great whisky, and the kind of welcoming atmosphere that has made Stravaigin a true Glasgow institution. Make sure you book ahead to secure your spot for this landmark occasion!
