Copenhagen Fashion Week is now on, continuing to cement its place as a serious contender on the global fashion stage, holding its own alongside Milan, Paris, New York, and London. Known for its seamless blend of style, innovation, and sustainability, the Danish capital has become the destination for those who crave fashion with substance.

To celebrate the start of Scandinavia’s most stylish event, we’re giving you the ultimate guide to Copenhagen’s best places to eat, sleep, and shop. Whether you're planning a trip or dreaming of one, let this be your passport to the city's effortlessly cool vibe.

CPHFW: Making its Mark

When I first attended Copenhagen Fashion Week in the early noughties, it was a far cry from the internationally celebrated event it is today. Back then, the city’s fashion scene felt more like an emerging whisper than the roaring hub it has become. But even in those quieter days, Copenhagen had wings—it was brimming with potential. Scandinavian brands were just beginning to carve out their space on the global stage, and even then, there was a distinct awareness of sustainability woven into their DNA.

The city itself felt fresh, a new contender in the traditional fashion capitals of London, New York, Milan, and Paris. Yet, Copenhagen offered something different. Its creativity was palpable, its energy magnetic, and its people—well, let’s just say Helena Christensen could walk past unnoticed here, given the abundance of effortless supermodel looks.

Fast forward to today, and Copenhagen Fashion Week is the event that everyone wants to be at. It’s not just a showcase for style; it’s a global hub for innovation, creativity, and sustainability. The Danish capital is now a destination for those who want more than just fashion—it’s a city that celebrates design, lifestyle, and culture in equal measure.

Where To Shop

So where should we head for the best shopping in Copenhagen? Caroline says: “I usually vintage or pre love shop in Copenhagen as the designer preloved selection is amazing. I got my first pair of Chanel shoes in Magnolias in central Copenhagen a few years ago. Vintage shops are spread around the city but a great area to visit for lots of great Indie shops and vintage ones is Jægersborggade in the Nørrebro area. I will also be visiting Caro Editions store for eclectic unique designs. My aim is to attend their show one day!,”

What To Wear to CPHFW

Caroline’s CPHFW Moodboard

Caroline, a meticulous packer, shares her moodboard of inspo for her looks during Copenhagen Fashion Week: “My key pieces for Copenhagen this season are wool coats and big warm hats. It’s very cold in Copenhagen in winter. I am sticking to a colour palette of three main colours - brown, khaki and navy - so I can mix and match and layer up. I’ll add in pops of colour with my accessories - probably red and blue. I also like to mix textures and prints too. Having three main colours helps me be organised and stay on track so I don’t over-pack. Adding in lots of accessories makes it easy to change things up.”
