Made In The Borders
Former Scotland rugby captain, Greig Laidlaw and his family, seem to have settled nicely into Japanese life as he now plays with NTT Communications Shining Arcs in the Top League. But at heart he’ll always be a Borders boy, which is why his recent collaboration with Galashiels based cashmere company, Kinalba was definitely worth a try, “Kinalba is the best cashmere in the world,” he said from his home in Urayasu, “the Japanese have a taste for Scottish textiles, in particular Scottish cashmere so I’m sure they’re going to love the quality of Kinalba."
Something of a cult hero, in the land of the rising sun, Mr Greig (as he is known) attracts huge interest from fans and the Japanese media, making this relationship a wise one for Kinalba. Founder, Debbie Patterson explained the link, “Kinalba is part of the new Scottish modernist movement and seeks to bring a dynamic fresh dimension to luxury Scottish cashmere and to do this we have to promote ourselves globally. A brand ambassador, like Greig, is a perfect fit. Not only does he understand the significance of the textile industry in the Borders but he loves the product too. His endorsement both at home and Japan is priceless for Kinalba.”
