A Bespoke Journey Just For You

The personalised nature of an ESPA experience is what truly sets it apart. On my visit to Schloss Roxburghe I was treated to an ESPA Back, Face & Scalp Treatment (£185 90 min / £225 120 min). My therapist began by taking the time to ask how I was feeling both physically and emotionally, allowing her to create a bespoke treatment that catered to my specific needs. This thoughtful approach was followed by the “blend journey” – a sensory exploration where I inhaled the scents of various ESPA products. Your body instinctively chooses the blend that it needs most in that moment, setting the stage for a deeply therapeutic treatment. This process is not just soothing; it kickstarts the effectiveness of the aromatherapy oils, which enter your system in just three minutes through inhalation, compared to 15 minutes when applied topically.

Once on the heated bed (optional) the experience began with a skin analysis using ESPA’s skin vision lamp, which provides an in-depth look at underlying skin issues. With an little bit of fear I agreed to a hand-held mirror to see with my own eyes my reflection in this lamp’s light. My therpist explained that overall my skin was super healthy but the lamp did reveal dehydration around my eyes and some pigmentation on my nose, cheeks and forehead from past sun exposure. My summer skin switch to SPF 50 (always) seems to have paid off.

The ESPA Back, Face & Scalp Treatment (£185 90 min / £225 120 min)

The treatment then moved on to a back exfoliation, followed by a deeply relaxing massage. My therapist expertly worked out the tension in my shoulders and hips, adjusting the pressure to ensure every knot and bit of stress melted away. It’s rare to find someone who can relieve such deep-seated tension, but she achieved it effortlessly.

Where to even begin with the facial? The scents of the luxurious cleansers, exfoliators and creams were so heavenly that I drifted into that blissful state between awake and asleep. As the ESPA products worked their magic on my thirsty skin, my therapist treated me to a divine scalp massage. It was the stuff of dreams – proven by the fact I caught myself mid-snore while she gently massaged the treatment into my hair! The entire 90-minute experience in the super-relaxed treatment room was pure heaven.
